THURSDAY EVENING U-PICK UPDATE

Thursday, June 18- U-pick strawberry evening picking WILL BE CLOSED DUE TO RAIN AND PATCH CONDITIONS. After watching the weather and checking the patch, the decision has been made to CLOSE the strawberry patch to u-pick for tonight's picking.

IT WILL REOPEN TOMORROW (FRIDAY, JUNE 19) AT 8 AM. and remain open until noon. (The weather report is for a drier day.)
Rain is predicted again for tomorrow evening. Let's hope the weather report improves!

EVERY DAY FROM 8 AM TO NOON. &

THURSDAY AND FRIDAY EVENINGS 6 PM TO 8 PM.

COST: $1.95 PER POUND. CONTAINERS AVAILABLE AT THE PATCH.

VERY IMPORTANT- CHECK AT THE FARM MARKET FOR DIRECTIONS TO THE PATCH OF THE DAY. WE ROTATE BETWEEN THREE PATCHES TO GIVE THE U-PICK BERRY CUSTOMERS GOOD PICKING.

Thursday, June 18--PATCH CLOSED THIS MORNING DUE TO HEAVY RAINS! Due to the rain, the u-pick strawberry patch will be closed today. Check with us at 4pm for update on evening picking conditions.

FARM MARKET: OPEN FROM 9:30 TO 5:30 WITH BERRIES. Price is $4.50 per quart or 8qts. for $32.

MONDAY JUNE 15 U-PICK UPDATE

U-PICK UPDATE FOR JUNE 15: The strawberry patch will be open for u-pick beginning Wednesday, June 17. The hours will be as follows:

OPEN DAILY 8AM TO NOON. NO AFTERNOON HOURS.

EVENINGS: THURSDAYS AND FRIDAYS 6PM TO 8PM ONLY.

IMPORTANT: Please stop at the farm market for directions to the day's patch. We move around to different patches to provide u-pick customers with the best picking.

COST: $1.95 per pound.
PICKING CONTAINERS: Containers are provided to the customer free of charge.

Children are welcome so long as they are supervised. Sampling is permitted as long as it does not become your breakfast, lunch and dinner.

STRAWBERRY INFO FOR 6/7

STRAWBERRIES ARE IN! Strawberries are for sale at the farm market. The price is $4.50 per quart. The hours are 10am to 5pm. Open daily with fresh picked strawberries.

U-PICK: We anticipate opening the u-pick near June 15. This information is dependent on the weather. Keep checking for updates.

ENJOY FRESH STRAWBERRIES SUNDAES at the ice cream shop. It is open daily.

Strawberry info for Friday, June 5

STRAWBERRY UPDATE: Due to the cold weather, the berries are ripening slowly. Check with us on Monday, June 8 either by email, phone (255-0693), blog or stop by the ice cream shop for more info.

The farm market will likely be open early next week (Tuesday June 9 or Wednes. June 10) with strawberries. HOWEVER, THE U-PICK WILL PROBABLY BE ANOTHER WEEK YET.

REMEMBER-THE WEATHER IS A BIG FACTOR IN WHEN WE OPEN WITH BERRIES.

Updates will continue as new information arrives.

STRAWBERRY 2009 UPDATES

MONDAY, JUNE 1- Strawberry season is approaching and here is the most recent information to pass along:

We should have strawberries at the roadside market in approximately 10 days. PLEASE CALL THE FARM ( or check the blog ) IN ABOUT A WEEK FOR AN UPDATE (255-0693).

U-Pick strawberries: At this point in time, U-pick strawberries will begin approximately 2 weeks.

We check the patches every day and things change depending on weather.

Oh my goodness!

Wednesday, May 6- It's time to open ice cream again! Steps are underway to open on Mother's Day Sunday, May 10. The hours for May will be Noon to 8pm Monday through Thursday and noon to 9pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The hours will be extended in June.

As for the other parts of the farm, you can still get good apples and cider in the winter showroom adjacent to the packinghouse. It is open every day. If you are looking for a particular variety, call first. We are nearing the end of our apple storage. (845) 255-0693.

The trees are in bloom (early this year). Petal fall has begun on some of the varieties.

No bloom on strawberries yet but I will keep you informed as we get closer.
