September is coming to an end. The days are getting shorter and the air is getting cooler. The leaves are starting to turn and the view of the mountain from our orchard is possibly the best way to take in the autumn colors.
Pick-Your-Own continues through October. By this weekend, most varieties will be ready for picking. Golden Delicious has been coming on slowly, but we think they'll be good to go. The Mutsu are still pretty green and, as always, the Granny Smith and Romes will need a few more weeks.
Chestnuts began to fall last weekend, but any wind this week will surely drop a ton more on the ground. By this weekend you won't be able to walk a step through there without stepping on chestnuts.
The doughnut robot will be running full steam all day and we'll have freshly pressed cider to wash it all down with. To take the chill off, we might even brew up some famous hot mulled cider, too.
