September 17, 2007

According to the ABC television weather man, this is the last week of summer. This colder nights remind us that Fall is upon us. Last night we covered the garden vegetables to protect them from potential frost.

The apples will start to "color" with these colder nights. And so do the chestnut trees. They are loaded with chestnuts. As soon as we have a really hard frost they will begin to drop too.

The Farm Market is open daily with Honeycrisp, Gala, and McIntosh. Apple cider donuts are made daily using our own farm pressed cider. Apple cider is also available in three sizes. Peaches are still be harvested for another week or so. The vegetables are still coming in. Nothing beats a BLT with a fresh tomato.

We will be open for apple picking on Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm. Apples are priced by the pound. It is still a little early for pumpkin picking but if you have your heart set on decorating we have what you need.

As always, if you have any questions please call (845) 255-0693. Enjoy the last week of summer!
