WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 9, 2008

U-PICK Apple Update: Because Yom Kippur falls on a Thursday this year, we will be open tomorrow (Thursday, October 9) for u-pick apples. The hours remain the same-9:30-5pm, the cost is 95 cents per pound. The varieities ready to pick for this weekend include Cortland, Empire, Macoun, Red & Golden Delicious, Mutsu aka Crispin. (We recommend you wait until next weekend to pick Fuji to allow their flavor to develop more.) The hayride will be operating on Thursday to get you to and from the orchard.

U-PICK Pumpkin: Pumpkin picking takes place daily from 9:30-5:30. We have pumpkins of all sizes. It's the pumpkin patch with the best view of the mountains. The cost of pumpkins is 45 cents per pound.

Farm Market: The Farm Market is open daily 9:30-5:30 with our own fresh pressed apple cider, apple cider donuts, apple varieities of all kinds including HoneyCrisp, pears, garden vegetables and winter squash.

Chestnuts: There are chestnuts falling on the ground and ready to be picked. The cost is $4 per pound. Please note-the chestnuts still hanging in the tree are not ready.

Fall Foliage: The colors are beginning to appear on the mountain. I do not think that we have reached our peak yet. The best view of the mountain is from the pumpkin patch or by the Granny Smith trees.

Q & A: If you have questions regarding the farm and what's available, you can reach us at (845) 255-0693 or by email at debdressel@aol.com. If you call, let it ring!
